It all started with Dave’s father’s passion for jazz and blues music from the 40’s and 50’s. Beginning at the age of 10, Dave taught himself to play by ear, listening to old jazz standards and practicing for hours during the dark winters growing up in Oslo, Norway, where his family was stationed in the Air Force. Dave moved back to Oregon in his high school years, and then on to the University of Oregon, under the direction of J. Robert Moore, where he was a two-time recipient of the Ruth Lorraine Close award for musical studies.
In 1995, Dave and Suzannah Doyle formed the duo, “Another Dave”, and recorded “December Breeze”, which earned them an invitation to perform at the White House in 1997. Their second CD, “DC Direct” was released in 1998. Dave and Suzannah continue to perform for a wide variety of events in Oregon. Dave’s most recent recording project, “Promise”, is his first solo production.
Currently, Dave lives in Corvallis, Oregon, with his wife, Catherine and daughter, Jennifer. Dave enjoys being a part of music in local community fundraisers, and with worship in several local churches. Some of his other interests include community involvement, coaching, and playing keeper in indoor soccer.
